I learned the new intricacies of an old role and was invited to step up and stretch myself and be part of an incredible team, and at times I think did pretty well. Other times, though, boy howdy…. I just really stunk up the pages. Through it all, I was encouraged and assisted by these people who offered me patience and feedback and ever-more patience, and having this particular group around me this year has mattered a whole lot. There is so much we can accomplish on our own, but working together to create something of value is the most rewarding work that I have done within my career. I hope I get to do it for a long, long time.
I’m still (daily) trying to figure everything out, and I know perfection will never be consistently attainable, but to strive for it alongside these folks is a pleasure and an honor. Thank you for accepting me as part of your writing team and playing such an important role in a year I will never forget!
