Things in my office, the Tennessee Edition

I photocopied this from an issue of National Dragster a long, long time ago, and it’s been pinned to a cubicle wall or sat framed on a shelf in every workspace I’ve had for the last 15 years or so. I keep it turned toward me as a reminder of what I’m doing and why I’m doing it.

What this photo says to me:

1. Have a vision and keep sight of it
2. Surround yourself with the right people
3. Care about your work, top to bottom
4. Strive for excellence
5. Work hard

The garbage can and will swirl around you, but if you just stay pointed at your goal and focused on what matters most, if your reason “why” continues to resonate, if you strive to do big things and surround yourself with good, like-minded individuals, you’re gonna win. You know? That’s what I tell myself anyway…..
